Hello, my name is Morgan Reyes. I am the founder and operator of Vis-Ability.
After learning my first son had a rare condition causing him to have several impairments including visual impairments, I decided to go a different path for my future. I enrolled in college with the dream to become a teacher for the visually impaired.
I graduated in 2017 with my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. After graduating, I decided to go into the classroom and get some experience before continuing on in my educational journey. I taught in several classroom settings within the umbrella of special education. This included teaching in structured learning classrooms, life skills, in class support, and specialized support settings. After getting some experience under my belt, I decided it was time to move forward with my dream. This led me back to Stephen F Austin State University, finishing the visual impairment program, and working as a teacher for the visually impaired. I also decided to proceed in my educational career for my master’s in special education with a focus in visual impairment. I have been a teacher for the visually impaired since 2022, and I have enjoyed it very much.
There is very little that I am more passionate about than the education, training, and advocacy for those with visual impairment. Due to this, I decided I wanted to take my passion to another level. This led me to the idea to not only teach those with visual impairments but take my knowledge past that. This is how I got the idea to offer my services to contribute to the betterment of the lives of those with visual impairments. This is how Vis-Ability was born. My dream is for every individual with visual impairments to live fulfilled lives through inclusion, acceptance, equality, and education.
